Hisayuki Ikeda was born on August 9, 1921 in Nagaskai Prefecture, Japan. He attended Nagasaki Shogyo high school and signed with Hankyu in 1939, appearing in six games.

The 18-year-old, right-handed hitting catcher played 22 games in 1940 and batted .227. He played just four games in 1941 (possibly due to military service) but played 59 games in 1942 and batted .219. In 1943, Ikeda played 68 games and batted .172.

Hisayuki Ikeda died in combat in 1944.
