Shuichi Hirose was born on March 15, 1922 in Ozu, Shiga Prefecture, Japan. He attended Ozu Shogyo high school and pitched for Asahi Benberugu in the Industrial League before having a tryout with the Tokyo Giants in July 1941.

In his first professional start with the Giants on August 21, 1941, Hirose threw a complete game shutout. He finished the season with an 8-4 won-loss record and 1.62 ERA. In 1942, Hirose was 21-6 with an earned run average of just 1.19.

Shuichi Hirose was drafted into the military in 1942 and died in combat.
