Daichi Kaino was born in 1916 in Hiroshima, Japan. He attended Koryo Chugakkou high school and played in the 1935 Koshien Tournament.

A middle-infielder, Kaino attended Meiji University and signed with Nagoya in 1938, playing in all of the team's 40 games during the fall season and batting .194. In 1939, Kaino played just five games (probably due to the military draft). He later died in combat.
